Steve came out and quickly diagnosed the problem with my garage door. He was professional. Unfortunately, he informed that the fee to come out and diagnose the issue was NOT included in the price of the repair. I have been a home owner x 38 years and have never heard of that. Whenever I have had any repairs done, the companies would put the initial fee toward the cost of the job. This turned me off about Precision Garage Doors. The service was costly enough—no need to bleed the customer! Not cool at all.

Hi Frank, I reviewed your account and you did qualify for a coupon that waives the service call fee. I am crediting the service call fee to your credit card. Thank you for your feedback and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Review:

Had three things I needed to be checked out the garage door remotes didn’t open open, get the outside entry pad working and also the red cord your pool when the door is closed and you lose electricity didn’t work. Seems none of the remotes would work because something is broken on the main unit and would need a whole new motor which is going to be over $600 OK my choice not to do that. what bothers me is the fact the tech had no idea why the cord wouldn’t work to open the door when the electric was off and had no answer about fixing it. So for $94 nothing was accomplished. The man who came was very nice, polite have no problems with him just his lack of ability to fix that last problem.

Very happy with the unit, works well. Disappointed that Cody recommended a chain driven unit rather than a belt driven unit. Belt drive is recommended on the website for houses with an attached garage which I have. Belt drive is quieter. Also time window for installation was missed by 2 hours. I had to call 3 times to get updates rather than the office calling me to advise of the delays. I had a new opener and garage door installed.

Great install except for garage opener. They couldn’t get unit to work. They sent out there specialist to fix and told me that the circuit board was burnt out. I said let’s try to reset it and see what happens. Well it worked and still working just fine. They were quick to try and get me for a new unit. Someone who would just accept it would have spent another 400+ for no reason. So great install of door, poor service for garage door opener

Don was very friendly and did a good job with the service call. Would be a better service from the company in 2020 to have the technology to show visually what the projected doors could look like by taking photos of the current and using the software to show what the future can be. In today’s environment what distinguishes a company is the ability to be savvy and not behind major competitors. My other two quotes gave me the proposed look within minutes and even before they left. I wanted this to be constructive and not critical. You need to upgrade your technology

The Technican (Gary) was pleasant & professional and the work was completed in a timely fashion (FIVE STARS for Technican) Springs have a 5 year warranty But..... You were an un-excusable 6 1/2 hours late, and since I made the appointment on Tuesday, you were actually 11 1/2 hours late because I should have been the 1st customer, not the last. I spoke with your customer service 4 times, and they never spoke about the extra Center Bearing, Hardware, & Disposal fees. So the $90 service fee savings was only a net savings of $22

Generally pleased with your service. However, when I called for service I think it would have been nice to do some basic troubleshooting over the telephone. It turns out the electric eye was misaligned and a diagnostic was shown on the opener. I was never informed of this when the door opener was installed in 2012. The service call was unnecessary. But, the Technician was very polite and helpful

Overall, good service and good product. However, when installer came he charged me an extra $50 to slide a few bikes and a bed frame to the back of the garage. I understand why the service fee exists for certain situations - but this was silly and from my perspective an overcharge of $50.

My appointment was Tuesday from 9 to 12. Your tech. showed up at 1 P.M. I didn't get call from anybody that he is running late. I didn't get an apology either. I was disappointed with lack of customer service. Your tech. did do a good job of removing a old garage door and installing a new garage door.

Please understand: on the whole I was very pleased with the work that Richie did when installing a new (replacement) garage opener. He was very professional and efficient. He also called me in advance to tell me he was on the way. The only complaint I had centered on the $35 extra fee he charged, apparently for "miscellaneous work". He was vague when he explained it and what he wrote on my bill did not clear. I am troubled by this for two reasons. First and foremost, when hc quoted me a price, he gave me a price which I assumed included everything, the opener, the installation, the cleanup, etc. He made no reference to any additional charges. (Note: I had a coupon and he honored this by not charging $89 for the service fee). This $35 additional fee just sort of came out of nowhere. Second, I could even put this aside, except that Richie really did not complete the job. He explained to me that the notch in the beam through which the belt drive ran did not have enough clearance on the one side. He further indicated that he could not do this, because he did not have a saw to widen the notch in the wood. He just left it at that; he never asked me if I had a saw that he could use. I did not raise the issue further, because he seemed to be in a hurry to leave; I guess he had to move on to his next job. (As an aside, why did he not have a saw in his van?) In light of the above, I do request a refund of this extra $35 fee, along with the associated sales tax on this amount. I have one other comment, this one related to your company. I appreciate this on-line opportunity to provide feedback. Interestingly, Richie also gave me a survey postcard which I could fill out and mail back. If you want people to take the time to provide you feedback, it seems that the least you can do is provide a postage-paid card or envelope. Don't make me fill out the survey form and then have to search for a stamp to mail it to you. One last point. Your records probably show "Brad" Ulshafer. Apparently the lady I spoke to who made the appointment heard "Brad" rather than "Fred". Thank you for considering my comments.

I called Christmas Eve and was told service would be between 10AM and 2PM. When no one arrived I called office twice and both times was told technican was running late. I did explain that we had plans to attend Chritmas Eve mass with my grandsons at4PM and the only reason I agreed to the service was that I was told it would be before 2PM. Unfortunately, my husband had to miss going to mass with our grandsons as the technican arrived after 4. Repair was made satisfactorily. It was very quiet the first few days but is now making a slight banging noise when operating.

I would love to give more stars, as the technician was very professional and courteous, however the time frame promised us was between 8 and 12 and the service man never called until 12:15 to tell me he'd be there by 12:45. I took the morning off from work to wait for him and then needed to take even more time. Also, he was not able to sync the opener with my car, he left it for us to do ourselves, possibly because we had to leave before he was finished the job.

Rapid response once we got the right day! Unfortunately the programming of the car remote did not take so you had to come back. Phone conversation with Rick allowed us to put a "band aid"on the problem until he could return.
